Witch Queen

In the original fairy tale, the witch queen is a troll sorceress who also happens to be the prince's stepmother. While she is an instrumental in the prince's curse, she is barely in the original story that it is easy to take great liberties with her character. I wanted her to be a more elegant yet intimidating villain, like Maleficent, which is why she appears as a tall and graceful human woman rather than a troll. I also gave her the name Deianira, which is the name of a princess in Greek mythology as I thought that giving the antagonists of this film Greek names rather than Norse or Scandinavian names quite funny. Unlike Carina and Leif whose attire is inspired by real-life historical garments, Deianira's gown is designed with the high-fantasy genre in mind. Her color scheme consists of black, red, and gold while the overall design of her gown is made to give her a regal and intimidating air.
